Dear Parents,
We experienced our first delayed opening this week. If my Christmas wish comes true this will
be our one and only, as I wished for a green winter!
A power line knocked down during the night caused the
delay. The Police Department and
Office of Emergency Management decided the two-hour delay was a necessity
when JCP&L did not arrive on the scene before the start of the school
day. I am aware that the late
notice caused a lot of last minute arrangements, and was an inconvenience for
many; however, no one can predict or schedule an emergency. This was not the ideal situation for
anyone; every effort is made to get the information to you as soon as
possible.
In the event of snow this winter, this is a good time to create
a plan for your family and household, should we have a delayed opening or
school closing.
·
Make sure you are signed up for our
e-alert notices.
·
In the event of snow, e-alerts will
be sent out as soon as the decision is made, and a notice will be placed on
the website.
·
News 12 New Jersey and 94.3 The Point will be notified of any delayed
opening or school closing.
Let’s hope we don’t have to use our plan and we have a nice mild
winter! But in the event we have snow,
we’ll be ready!
Stay warm, as the cold weather seems to have arrived!
