August 11. 2020
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this communication continues to find you safe and well.
In accordance with Governor Murphy’s and the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) “The Road Back” guidelines, each New Jersey school district was directed to develop a Restart Plan through the work of a Restart Committee representing all stakeholders in the school district. The plan was to include three considerations of reopen, remote, and hybrid. Further, the plan was to demonstrate the ability to “pivot” between the three considerations in an agile manner on a moment’s notice.
Our school district’s Restart Committee has done an outstanding job in developing our Restart Plan with the health and safety of students, staff, parents, and community as our paramount focus. I was proud to present our plan to our Board of Education at its Special Meeting held on August 4, 2020 where our Board reviewed and approved the plan. I then submitted our approved plan as required for review and approval of the NJDOE. As soon as NJDOE approval is achieved, I will share the plan, the details of the plan, and the considerations of the plan to maintain the health and safety of students, staff, parents, and community.
In the meantime, I am asking for your assistance right now to prepare students for a safe return to school. While your children are still home with you, please have them practice the following skills they will need in school:
The more you can practice with your children now, the more our outstanding staff can maintain as safe and healthy a school environment as possible. In the meantime, please look for my ongoing health and safety updates, and feel welcome to reach out to me anytime.
