• The Neptune City Public Schools’ Special Services Department is responsible for locating and identifying all children, ages 3 to 21 years, who may have an educational disability due to physical, sensory, emotional, learning, communication, cognitive, or social difficulties and may need special education and related services or speech/language services and are residents in the district. Students attending nonpublic schools within the district regardless of their residence or students attending early childhood programs also are included in this process

This requirement also applies to highly mobile students, such as migrant and homeless students, as well as students who may have a disability even though they are advancing from grade to grade. The district offers a full continuum of special education programs and services in Preschool through 8th Grade.
