    Dear Families:

As you are probably aware, we have confirmed cases of Coronavirus in our neighboring towns.

We understand there is much concern over this and we are committed to providing the most up-to-date information as it comes to us.

We would like to stress to our school community is that commen illnesses are often circulating in our community. Because protection from all respiratory viruses is similar, this is a good time to review strategies we can all use to prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, such as the flu:

    • Wash your hands often, with soap and water, for at least 20 seconds.
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
    • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
    • Stay home when you are sick and keep sick children home as well.
    • Cover your cough or sneeze, and immediately discard any tissues.
    • Clean and disinfect frequently-touched objects and surfaces.

We will keep you updated with any developments that could impact our families or schools.

Please visit the school webpage often for updates and feel free to email concerns.

I will be posting activities and home school activities to help fill your days.

    Thank you and stay Healthy

    Sincerely,

    Sharon Turk

To support regulation you and your  child can practice these songs.

Self-regulation is a set of underlying abilities that allow children to be successful in social interactions and learning. It’s tied to brain development that occurs in the early childhood years and can be influenced by a child’s early environment. The good news: Parents and teachers can support the development of children’s self-regulation, which will have a long-term positive impact in children’s lives.

To Develop language skills, practice conversation with your child at least three exchanges daily.

     For example:

What makes you happy (afraid, sad, excited etc.)? Your child should answer the questions then ask you the same questions.

    What is your favorite movie?

If you could be an animal which one would you be?

    Who is your best friend?

     What is your favorite book?

What games do you like to play?

    Sensory Play

A sensory activity is anything that involves the 5 senses (taste, touch, smell, hearing, sight) and also the vestibular or proprioception systems (see what are the 8 senses for more info). Sensory activities for children can be messy, engaging, fun, and easy to put together.
